No TNUA for me tonight
Drat! We had an ice storm yesterday, followed by snow overnight and more in the forecast. The bike has been wearing its studded tires since last week Monday. And I have a headcold.
This, after a case of bronchitis last week. Bronchitis? I can’t remember having bronchitis when I was smoking. I quit, and I get bronchitis. Actually, there’s a particularly nasty batch of it going around. One of our patrons, a guy around my age who otherwise seemed health and active enough, said it put him in the hospital for a week.
So I guess I can’t complain. I was able to keep up with everything last week just fine. Even rode the TNUA with it. Although the stress it put on my immune system is probably what let this cold sneak in.
Meanwhile, the bike sits across the room looking disgusted with its engine. Lake-effect clouds drift by sprinkling snow that looks like glitter as it falls through the sun. I’m working from home in between making things in the kitchen and catnaps.
Still, I have 160 miles on the year already, 40 short of January’s goal. So I can afford a few days down.
Later
Has-A-Tude sent photos from our ride a week ago Sunday. We rode th new, north section of the Riverway Trail. See them here: http://www.brucew.com/gallery/. I guess I have to write a ride report soon too.

Woah! The dude has a Hummer bike!

Um, no. Has-A-Tude is a chick.
This explains why it’s moderately distressing that her bike is far more butch than mine. And did I mention it’s a folder. Just the ticket for combining cycling with skydiving. Fold it up, jump out of the plane, unfold it and ride off to battle.

Ooops, sorry H-A-T
Yeah, I’ve seen those Hummers before – “interesting”
