And in other news…

I found out the position at the Appellate Court library is one of the most sought-after postions to come along in recent memory within library community. Apparently, a lot of actual librarians are applying for the position, even though it’s a giant step backwards to be a circulation clerk.

I expected competition to be fierce, but I didn’t expect to have to compete against people with Masters of Library Science. It could go either way. They could see an MLS as overqualified and thus, likely to move a position on their level when one opens, or they could see it as a way to get an MLS on-the-cheap.

Perhaps that’s why an interesting phone call came on Monday. The county committee for a political party is looking for a new web site and new web hosting firm. We meet next week Wednesday.

Strangely, in the story I started writing in January, the protagonist’s boyfriend handles all the contract PR work—including the web site—for the Democratic Party’s county committee.

Life imitates art.
