Wednesday was Staff Appreciation Day at the library. Although it’s normally one of my days off, I went in at noontime in order to be appreciated.

I was out on the fire-escape having a smoke when I heard a scraping noise behind me. This man was pushing his kangaroo out into the alley to paint it. Apparently the city is doing another one of those animals on parade things this year.

The Presbytery is my oldest, most loyal and most important client. They literally pay my rent. Half-a-large is electronically dumped into my business account on the last day of the month. I transfer it to my personal account on the first and write the rent check on the second.
