Dammit, dammit, dammit!
Had dinner with Web-boy tonight. He’s moving back to Long Island. Already has an apartment and roommate in Hicksville. He’s “home” in Rochester for just a couple of weeks to pack everything up and move.
There’s bound to be a silver lining here somewhere. Guess I’ll start looking for it.

But how was dinner?

Ha! Dinner was great. Venuto’s is a very NYC-style storefront restaurant in the fashionable East End. Maybe ten tables and a pizza bar across from the wood-fired pizza oven. We started with a delightful vegatarian roasted tomato and roasted pepper soup followed by Pasta Risatoni(?) which was a marinara sauce with peppers, Italian sausage and a cheese I’m unfamiliar with served over fettucini. $36 including tip. Followed up with coffees and cookies over at The Spot. In all, a four-and-a-half hour evening that has left me reeling just a bit. In case your were wondering, the Mercedes—a vintage ‘87 300E, BTW—looks great just back from the collision shop. What wasn’t repainted has been rubbed-out and he had it detailed. Unless you know your Mercedes, (and you don’t look at the 213,000 miles on the odometer) you’d swear it was new. Still, nary a rattle, squeak or annoying vibration or hum. It’s like sitting inside a bank vault. A bank vault that takes Rochester’s moon-cratered roads with surprising aplomb.
