Anniversary

Funny how things change as time goes by.

Other years I’ve anxiously awaited the site anniversary, thought deep thoughts, prepared special entries. This year, it hadn’t even occurred to me until I got an email from Chris this morning with a special gift gif.

Gift GIF from ChrisI can’t think of any other journal that has kept going for that length of time without serious hiatuses. That’s quite an achievement! I hope it’s still going in another seven years.

This year, well, sorry. No special anniversary entry. It’s a glorious day here in R-Town. Weathermen are blatering on and on about a new record high. It’s sunny, not as windy as predicted, the snow has melted from even the shady spots and the fountain is almost completely thawed. This afternoon they’re calling for the upper 60s (around 20°C) and I’m not going to miss the opportunity.

I have the windows open and I’m going to clean. The only problem with all hardwood floors and a small apartment is that in winter with all the windows closed, it can smell like Murphy’s Oil Soap in here for a week or more after mopping. And by then, it’s time to mop again. So all I’ve done is sweep. Today I’ll mop the floors and put the mop outside where it will dry in the sun instead of freezing solid.

It’s just dizzying to think of what I call a life now.
