Clothesline
The weekend I’ve looked forward to with a mixture of equal parts anticipation and dread has arrived.
The Clothesline Art Festival opens across the street at the MAG in just few minutes. Seventeen acres of art I can neither appreciate nor afford.
And the cruising… I can’t wait.
The street has been jammed since early yesterday morning. Artists anc concessionaires jockeying for position, cars, trucks and trailers parked every which way, tents rising, a sculpture or two trundled down the sidewalk…
It doesn’t open until ten, yet the block has been in full festival mode since shortly after sunrise. The line of earlybirds backed-up at the gate stretches in the other direction all the way to University Ave. You couldn’t find a parking spot in the neighborhood even last night.
And all I have to do is cross the street…
