Back from Toronto
Yee hah! Riding that ferry is way cool.
I got back to my apartment a half-hour or so ago. The boat left and arrived on time, which was 10:45 and 1:00 respectively. Doorstep-to-doorstep was 5, which is competitive with driving (if there’s not a back-up at Customs) and several hours faster than the bus or train. In my case, naturally, the hold-up is ground transport on either end (and would have by either train or bus).
Highlights of the trip include leaving my Saturday hair appointment with a new hosting client, spent the day with Willie and hs BF, Santiago yesterday.
Coming home from there I was stuck for nearly an hour in the middle of the street at the streetcar stop (and I could see the damned sreetcar two stops away) because of the gridlock caused by celebrating Portugese people.
Portugal won their European Cup (soccer) match yesterday, which apparently means they’re required to jump in their cars with a million Portugese flags, jam up St. Clair Ave West, yell, scream, hoot and holler from the car windows and sunroofs, crank the tunes, lay on the horn and do smoky burnouts.
Festive people these Portugese.
Full details with pics by the weekend in the regular journal.
