At work Tuesday March 23, 1999 Writing doesnt feel the same when I know it wont be posted or read by anyone for a few days. Ive enjoyed the immediacy. Write, post, answer e-mail, reflect, live, write True its not as immediate as chat, but I dont think that well on my feet. Thanks to all who have written wondering where the site has gone. Its a simple matter really. When the hosting fees were due, I was short. Then when I had the money, Id lost my ATM card. Got a new ATM card, and guess what? Im short again. Its not a fortune, $24.95 per month payable quarterly, but its more than whats in the checking account now. Its "No tickee, no washee" in the world of e-commerce, so Hiway/Verio pulled the plug. I cant blame them considering Ive had 30 days grace period. Providing I dont lose the new ATM card between now and the end of the week, the site should be back up on payday, Friday -- Saturday at the latest. Im calendar impaired when it comes to future engagements. Last week it seemed like the 23rd was two weeks away, so I didnt worry paying the site fees. I could have sent a check in the mail rather than wait for a new ATM card. You know, it seems like I always lose that card when its time to pay the hosting fees. I wonder what that means? Im also money impaired when it comes to future expenditures. I seem to budget the same funds for two or three expenses. Naturally when it comes time to write the checks, Im sitting there wondering where all the money went.
Well I paid the hosting fees for this month and the next two this morning, and they told me the site would be back up by close of business today. Then I spent $88 at lunch today on a weekly bus pass, two cartons of cigs, and the first two white hots of the season. Oh yeah, I was behind on my coffee club dues and its my turn to buy for the bagel club next week, so I set aside the money for that too. Up to Tue
